Il 31 agosto 2019 ero a Parigi e andando a prendere il Batou Mouche, nei pressi del Ponte dell'Alma, mi sono ricordata che ricorreva il 22 esimo anniversario della morte di Lady D, proprio lì. Avvicinandomi al piccolo monumento che la ricorda sul luogo dell'incidente, ho visto gente portare fiori e avere per lei parole di affetto e di commozione. Lady D rimane la principessa più amata di sempre. Oggi il ricordo della principessa triste specialmente a Parigi, è ancora più forte: era la sera del 31 agosto 1997, Diana Spencer viaggiava insieme al compagno Dodi Al-Fayed a bordo di una Mercedes S280 di serie, i paparazzi non le davano tregua, poi l'ingresso nel tunnel parigino di Pont de l'Alma ed infine lo schianto. Con lei sono morti il milionario Dodi Al-Fayed e l'autista Henri Paul, mentre è rimasto gravemente ferito la guardia del corpo di Dodi, Trevor Rees-Jones.Questa foto è un mio, piccolo e personale omaggio alla sua memoria. Ho ancora negli occhi il suo dolce sorriso e risento la sua stretta di mano nel foyer del teatro alla Scala, quando era ancora la moglie dell'erede al trono. La rividi trenta giorni prima della sua tragica morte, in Duomo ai funerali di Gianni Versace. Commenti e critiche sempre molto gradite.
