Nella seconda parte nel mi viaggio di questo anno ho soggiornato una settimana in questo grazioso paesino dell'Inghilterra della rivoluzione industriale settecentesca. Si trova nella contea del Wiltishire molto vicino a Bath e a 30 km dalla grande Bath ma è anche al limite meridionale occidentale delle famosissime colline inglesi le cotswolds... Bradford on Avon conta 9.402 abitanti della situato - come suggerisce il nome - lungo il corso del fiume Avon. È un centro commerciale e turistico caratterizzato dalla presenza di numerosi edifici storici. Le sue origini risalgono all'epoca romana ed ebbe un periodo di forte crescita nel XVII secolo per la presenza di industrie tessili, soprattutto la lana. Il suo monumento più significativo è questo vecchio ponte medioevale sul fiume Avon che corre verso Bristol. Buona visione.
