I Mondi di Cristallo Swarovsky, vasta e spettacolare area espositiva non lontano da Innsbruck, furono inaugurati nel 1995 in occasione del centesimo anniversario della celeberrima azienda tirolese. Milioni di visitatori, provenienti da ogni angolo del mondo, hanno da allora visitato le attrazioni del Giardino e gli incredibili tesori custoditi nelle 17 Camere delle Meraviglie all'interno della struttura ipogea del Gigante: ammirare le creazioni di alcuni dei più noti artisti contemporanei, in un ambiente che trasuda fantasia e magia ad ogni passo, è un'esperienza tanto gratificante quanto commovente ... se passate da quelle parti concedetevi un tuffo nel caleidoscopico mondo dei cristalli! ....... Il Duomo Di Cristallo ....... La spettacolare struttura è ispirata alla cupola geodetica con cui Richard Buckminster Fuller perfezionò in architettura il principio della geodesia, ovvero della disciplina scientifica che studia la riproduzione della superficie terrestre ed indica, in matematica, il collegamento teoricamente più breve che unisce due punti su di una superficie ricurva. Le cupole geodetiche sono particolarmente stabili, nonostante un utilizzo comparativamente ridotto di materiale. La cupola del Duomo di Cristallo consiste in 595 specchi che generano una particolare impressione di profondità e trasmettono al visitatore la sensazione di trovarsi all'interno di un cristallo. Nove degli specchi sono “specchi spia”, dietro i quali si trovano affascinanti oggetti realizzati da diversi artisti. La musica che allieta la permanenza nella cupola è di Brian Eno.
