Il Geum reptans L appartiene alla famiglia delle Rosaceae ed è comunemente chiamato Cariofillata delle pietraie o Ambretta strisciante. E' diffuso in Italia solo nell'arco Alpino tra i 1900 ed i 3500 m. slm e si ambienta su ghiaioni e strati rocciosi soprattutto di natura silicea dove fiorisce nei mesi di luglio e agosto. Il nome del genere deriva dal greco “ghéuo” = io do sapore, io rendo gustoso per il profumo, simile al chiodo di garofano, emanato dal rizoma di molte specie del genere; il nome specifico indica gli stoloni striscianti. Scatto effettuato nei pressi della base del Ghiacciaio dei Forni (Alta Valtellina) a circa 2600 m. slm. nel mese di Luglio del 2019
