Habitat: Ambienti secchi e caldi, golene, zone rocciose e radure di boschi, dalla pianura fino a 1500 m. Periodo di volo Polivoltina da metà marzo a maggio e da luglio ad agosto. Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Varie piante del genere Sedum tra cui S. maximum, S. album e S. telephium. Dimorfismo sessuale: Femmina con minore disegno azzurro-violaceo sul diritto delle ali. Variazioni: Esemplari maschili possono avere una notevole riduzione dei disegni azzurro-violacei e alcune femmine ne possono essere completamente prive. Notevole la variazione individuale delle dimensioni.
