Comunemente chiamata Pedicolare di Kerner, questa pianta appartiene alla famiglia delle Orobanchaceae. Fiorisce tra Luglio e Settembre ed è diffusa su tutto l'arco alpino ad eccezione del Friuli. Il nome del genere dal latino "pedicularis"= pidocchio, dato che pare che le piante del genere siano insettifughe. Invece secondo John Ray il nome fu attribuito al genere perché le specie che lo compongono, presentano delle rugosità simili a pidocchi. L'epiteto specifico è dedicato ad A. J. Kerner von Marilaun, botanico austriaco cui si deve la prima descrizione della specie. Scatto effettuato nel mese di Luglio 2019 in Valfurva a circa 1750 di quota.
