Although, I have some doubts that the PDC is so limited... We are at 17mm and I have fochated at 30m/40m (in the middle of the floor), so there should be a PDC that goes from a few meters to infinity! :-D
If you see softness I don't think it's due to out of focus, but rather the combined effect of soft angles (a TA and 17mm, however good, the Tammyno is not a monster) + the ISO exulted (for the poor 70D) used in this shot! :-P

Anche se, ho qualche dubbio che la pdc sia tanto limitata... siamo a 17mm e ho focheggiato a 30m/40m (nel mezzo del pavimento), per cui dovrebbe esserci una pdc che va da pochi metri a infinito! 
Se vedi morbidezza non credo sia dovuta al fuori fuoco, quanto piuttosto all'effetto combinato dei bordi morbidi (a TA e 17mm, per quanto buono, il Tammy non è un mostro) + gli iso esasperati (per la povera 70D) usati in questo scatto!
