Anguilla è la più settentrionale delle Isole Sopravento nelle Piccole Antille . Il nome le deriva dalla sua forma stretta e allungata . E' un'isola di origine corallina caratterizzata da paesaggi piuttosto aridi e da vegetazione a macchie basse . Offre però un mare cristallino con fondali di corallo ed alcune splendide spiagge tra le quali la più bella è probabilmente Shoal Bay East , una distesa di sabbia bianchissima che fronteggia un mare dagli incredibili colori che vanno dal turchese al blu intenso orlato di schiuma bianca vicino alla barriera .
