La collina è quella famosa, un'icona. La mia prima volta in Val d'Orcia, grazie ad un amico che mi ha ospitato lì vicino. Il tempo è poco, perché avrò un solo tramonto e una sola alba a mia disposizione. Sinceramente arrivo senza molte aspettative, sia perché è la prima volta che esploro quei luoghi, sia perché da una parte sono intimorito da un immaginario del luogo già molto "codificato". Alla fine cerco di isolarmi e farmi suggestionare. Trovo una composizione che mi dice qualcosa, ma la luce è veramente brutta, l'orizzonte è chiuso, coperto, non filtra un raggio. Mi sto per arrendere e ho già smontato quasi tutto, quando ecco accendersi una nuvola. Da lì in poi è tutto un crescendo, con il panico addosso rimonto tutto e cerco di non fare errori per la fretta. Alla fine mi ritrovo questo scatto, un grande regalo inaspettato ed un invito a tornare in questi luoghi.
