"THE JOURNEY": in the journey in this window on the Universe where the eyes almost fall, we can fly over nebulae, flank clusters, touch stars, cross dark clouds ... But the first stage of this trip would be the big yellow light source, in the upper left, much closer than the rest of the image. Who can recognize what it is? Image obtained by Gorropu (Sardinia, Italy) on September 3, 2018, with a Canon 6D Baader applied to a 400mm F2.8 canon telephoto lens at full aperture on Vixen GP auto-guiding, with only 8 images from 6 minutes to 800 ISO.

Clearly depends on the subjects taken.
on the Wide field the DSLRs offer excellent results, sure is that the signal noise ratio is much better in a dedicated sensor.

Really beautiful Cristian! Of course with only 8 poses for 6 minutes you managed to get out really very weak objects and with very little noise really compliments! Ok the Trifid and the lagoon are classic, but you also brought out the IC 4685 that I had never seen in the picture... and also that kind of "Barnard's Loop" that starts from Saturn and goes to the northwest... I did not know that existed! I don't think it's part of the Milky Way, right? What's his name? Hello and thank you, Daniele

Thanks for the appreciation and analysis of the image Daniele!
Personally when I dialed the framing I was concerned to take good care of the region that goes from the M8 lagoon to the IC 4685, everything else came accordingly! The sort of red ring/bow that came out in the upper part of the image, according to Stellarium, would seem to be the RCW149 and LBN38, HII regions.
For sure from those parts of nebulae there are a little everywhere and where you get good! ;-)

Interesting! Sky Safari instead gives me nothing in that area... a point in favor of Stellarium!
