Rocca Calascio è un castello medioevale situato nel Parco nazionale del Gran Sasso e monti della Laga. Il castello, che si trova a 1450 msl, è tra i più elevati d'Italia, nel sottostante borgo medioevale vivono attualmente 10 persone. Nel 1986 qui è stato ambientato il film "Il nome della rosa". La sensazione che si prova nel salire lì è di essere fuori dal tempo .... è un tuffo nel passato e nel futuro, un senso di infinito. Non è solo la bellezza del paesaggio che da lì si domina, ma sono le emozioni che si provano.
