Nelle vicinanze del Ponte di Rialto c'è questo lussuoso centro commerciale, famoso, oltre che per i suoi negozi, anche per la terrazza panoramica da cui si gode un' inusuale visuale su Venezia dall'alto. Storicamente il palazzo fu assegnato dal Senato Veneziano alla gestione dei mercati "tedeschi" (ovvero d'oltralpe) poiché fin dal XIII sec. erano numerosi i tedeschi presenti a Venezia. In questo luogo i mercanti abitavano e custodivano le merci durante la loro permanenza a Venezia. Nel 1505 l'edificio venne distrutto e poi ricostruito nel 1508 per volere del senato. A differenza di altri palazzi sul Canal Grande, si decise di non ricorrere a decorazioni marmoree né elementi decorati a traforo, abbellendo piuttosto le campiture libere tra le finestre con affreschi, per i quali vennero chiamati Giorgione e il suo giovane allievo Tiziano. Secondo Dolce, che scriveva nel 1557, la Giustizia di Tiziano, dipinta sul lato della calle, era così bella che venne scambiata per opera del maestro Giorgione, generando un conflitto tra i due. Gli affreschi dei due maestri sono ora ammirabili presso le gallerie dell'Accademia. A dx della foto è ben visibile la scritta PRINCIPATUS LEONARDI LAUREDANI INCLITI DUCIS ANNO SEXTO (Costruito nel sesto anno di carica dell'Illustrissimo Doge Leonardo Loredan, 1506). Edizione, società del gruppo Benetton ha affidato il progetto di recupero del palazzo allo studio OMA dell'architettoRem Koolhaas. L'immobile nel 2016 è diventato il primo department store in Europa targato DFS (gruppo LVMH). Il piano terra ospita le sezioni Food&wine e Gift&Fashion e nell'antico cortile ora si trova un elegante caffè. Il primo piano è dedicato al Fashion accessories mentre nel secondo trovano spazio i prodotti uomo e l'area Watches&Jewels.
