2000 iso? why? I think there is a good light!

I have a 7d combined with the sigma 150-500 ... to avoid blur in the shots on the fly does not go down below 1/1600 and to have a little more detail I close the aperture to f10 ... for dark subjects sovraespongo two stops on the sky ... the marsh harrier female is very dark, so I raise the ISO until you get the exposure I need.
I prefer to work in overexposure because the image can be processed in post production and has less noise ... of course I pay a pledge with the colors that should be fixed with a minor detail that I try to retrieve the diaphragm a little more closed and with a bit of sharpening when elaborate the image.
When I took this picture (around 16.00) the exposure was onlyor 1 stop ... of a burst of about 20 frames (the hawk circling in front of the shed hunting) I kept only three ... in all other subject was dark.
If you look at the picture, the bottom (I tried to recover in PP) of the hawk and part of its wing far are very dark.

Greetings Gigi
