Ponte Cestio, fu costruito nel 46 a.C., in origine era un ponte di legno, porta al rione Trastevere, prese il nome da Lucio Cestio amministratore e fratello di Caio Cestio. Poichè fu spesso danneggiato dalle inondazioni, fu completamente ricostruito nel XIX secolo per essere adattato ai nuovi muraglioni, furono allargati rispetto al precedente ponte anche le due arcate laterali in modo da scongiurare future alluvioni. I due ponti sono uniti da una via vicus Censori. Il ponte Cestio che collega quindi l'Isola Tiberina a Trastevere, oggi ha 3 arcate, ed è del tutto diverso dal ponte originario. Il ponte Fabricio, che è l'altro ponte dell'isola Tiberina, porta verso il Ghetto, il quartiere ebraico, e il Foro Boario, da sempre questo è stato un ponte attivo, mentre il ponte Cestio verso Trastevere, no. Il ponte Cestio venne eretto quando l'isola perse la sua funzione di granaio e si voleva un collegamento tra Campo Marzio e Trastevere, pare sia stata edificato poco dopo il ponte Fabricio, ma se ne ha menzione solo 4 secoli più tardi. Probabilmente questo ponte venne costruito tra il 62 a.C. e il 27 a.C. Da questo lato la corrente del Tevere è più forte, per cui ponte Cestio ha avuto vari rifacimenti. Nel 370 d.C. al tempo di Valentiniano, di Valente e Graziano, 3 imperatori romani, il ponte Cestio venne ricostruito del tutto Il ponte, chiamato anche Graziano, venne interamente demolito alla fine dell'ottocento, è in travertino nella parte esterna in peperino e tufo nella parte interna, i parapetti erano in marmo, alcuni vennero rifatti nel secolo XVII, nel 1679. Tutto il ponte venne smontato nel 1888. Nel tardo Quattrocento il ponte si chiamò ponte di San Bartolomeo, perchè immette nella piazzetta dove c'è la chiesa di San Bartolomeo allI Dopo l'unità d'Italia il ponte Cestio, venne smontato e ricostruito, quindi non è più lo stesso ponte del I secolo a.C. Il nuovo ponte Cestio venne inaugurato il 20 settembre del 1892, è lungo 80,40 metri, diviso da 3 archi, l'arco centrale ha una luce di 23,70 metri, mentre gli archi laterali hanno una luce di 21,40 metri.
