La Fiumara di Tusa è il letto di un antico fiume che un tempo lontano scorreva tra i monti Nebrodi. L'idea di "Fiumara d'Arte" nasce nel 1982 quando Antonio Presti pensa di dedicare un monumento alla memoria del padre e si rivolge allo scultore Pietro Consagra. Antonio Presti immagina di dar vita a un parco di sculture che coniughi il linguaggio contemporaneo all'aspra bellezza dei luoghi. Questo singolare progetto, una sorta di museo di scultura contemporanea all'aperto, partito nel 1982 e tuttora in evoluzione, ha visto e vede impegnati artisti contemporanei sia italiani che stranieri. Dopo 25 anni di battaglie legali, che hanno visto anche, nel 1990, la condanna di Antonio Presti alla "demolizione delle opere, a quindici giorni di reclusione e a 23 milioni di multa per avere alterato il territorio, per abusivismo edilizio" ed appelli culturali, il 06/01/2006, per intervento del presidente della Repubblica Carlo Azeglio Ciampi viene finalmente riconosciuto il "Parco di Fiumara d'arte". "Energia mediterranea" (1990), opera di Antonio Di Palma, è un'onda blu che idealmente lega la montagna al mare. La scultura non è monumentale nel senso della verticalità, ha piuttosto un rapporto orizzontale e sinuoso di contatto con la natura: una grande onda di cemento blu come gonfiata dal vento, un segno d'acqua solidificato sulla montagna. Peccato che il giorno che l'ho visitata io il cielo non fosse proprio dei più... belli.
