Lo scoiattolo berbero (Atlantoxerus getulus), importato dal Marocco, è diventato un “invasore” presente quasi ovunque sull'isola di Fuerteventura (Canarie). Adora stare tra le pareti di pietra e le scogliere in riva al mare, crogiolandosi al sole e osservando l'ambiente circostante, turisti compresi. Ha una pelliccia per lo più beige a righe longitudinali di colore marrone e una lunga e folta coda la cui pelliccia ha luce alternata e anelli scuri. Bella Fuerteventura, isola che conserva ancora territori incontaminati e che invita a starvi e soggiornarvi.
