Venerdì 16 febbraio 2018, alle 17.30, presso l'Aula Magna del Rettorato (Via G. Verdi, 8 - Torino) l'artista Zhang Hongmei inaugura l'opera Urban Colors and Xian warriors con una sua originale Performance. L'opera è allestita nel cortile del Rettorato (Via Verdi, 8 / Via Po, 17) dal 16 febbraio al 30 marzo 2018 ed è possibile visitarla dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 9 alle 19. Il progetto, realizzato dall'artista cinese Zhang Hongmei per l'Università di Torino, è una riflessione sul tema del colore nella vita urbana e di come il colore possa cambiare la percezione degli spazi e dei luoghi. In questo specifico caso, l'intervento avviene su una architettura severa, storicamente connotata da aspetti architettonici di grande fascino. L'installazione di Zhang Hongmei si prefigge quindi, pur rispettando gli aspetti architettonici preesistenti, di dare una nuova lettura a questo luogo con l'inserimento di elementi colorati, desunti dalla tradizione cinese. L'iniziativa è organizzata in collaborazione con l'Istituto Confucio dell'Università di Torino.
