Vallée de Fontanalba . Il monte Bego è una montagna delle Alpi Marittime , compresa nel parco nazionale del Mercantour . Le valli che lo circondano sono ricche di rocce profondamente modellate dall'ultima glaciazione . Alcune aree , in particolare la Valle delle Meraviglie e Fontanalba , sono luoghi ricchi di incisioni rupestri , oltre 35000 ; le incisioni picchiettate sono attribuibili alla preistoria ( dal Neolitico all'antica età del Bronzo , 3500 - 1500 a. C. ) ; si diffondono oltre i 2000 m di quota , fino a 2500 - 2600 m. ; qui le rocce sono coperte di neve da Ottobre-Novembre fino a Giugno . Una volta libere dalla neve mostrano magnifici colori , dal rosso al verde e al violetto .
