L'infinito della Cattedrale di Amalfi, la sua attuale veste barocca, voluta dall'arcivescovo Michele Bologna al principio del settecento, ha cancellato quasi del tutto il primitivo impianto romanico. I marmi policromi, il ricco soffitto a cassettoni, con grandi celle incorporate che esaltano la figura dell'Apostolo Andrea, offrono uno spettacolo che affascina e riempie lo spirito.
