The photo is very beautiful.
But, if I can afford from Campania and good connoisseur of Naples, I would have exposed for the bottom of the alley. This is to give all the depth and show the details that the light, always happens in Naples, indicates to you. Light and details, in the depths of the alley and of their vision and aspiration, are a large part of what is often denied to those who live in that great contrast that you rightly emphasize.
Good day.

A reality that has been present for centuries in the cities of the sea and which has marked civilization between conflicts and coexistence. And today?
Beautiful proposal GA :-P
a warm greeting :-)

Excellent glimpse and beautiful backlight; I am struck by the depth of perception of the place and the city that you express in the caption ;-): congratulations Agata.

@ Giuscov: I think I understand in part what you want to tell me, Giuseppe, but I can tell you what I wanted to emphasize here. I found bewitching the shadow in the city that, because of its latitude, I imagine, has another way of covering the walls, given that its buildings are often very tall. I have made the exhibition here, also choosing intermediate points to have light brushstrokes even in the dim light areas, to underline that the light reaches everywhere, even in the lower points. What you suggest, in "your" hypothetical photography, would have favored the band of light of the background, extinguishing almost everything else. It's not wrong, it's not right, it's just another way of living that moment. Thank you so much for the opportunity to exchange views, and for how you exposed yours: -% 29.
Best wishes, GA

@ Jancuia: and today one should increasingly think of the roots and the sedimentation of what has been built, in all senses, in the course of Time. A city like this has taken ages to be what it is, with all that it means. It would be good to have more temperance, and less haste and more respect and wisdom ;-)
greetings, GA

@Nightflier: first time I saw her, but it was love at first sight, more than what I had planned to try ;-) at the heart is not commanded ..

Beautiful this shot Simonetta, portrays the Naples that there, where sun and shadow appear and disappear in the same way of the beautiful and the ugly, honest and corrupt, where malicony and joyfulness challenge each day.
A big greeting.
Eraldo. :-P

good Simonetta, I'm sure you will bring home (and we will propose) beautiful photographs
I think it's a city (like Genoa, if one day you'll visit it) in which you'll be able to put to good use your great ability to make light and colors
