Nice backlight, the plots of the trees stand out against the sky like an embroidery.

I would like to add that when we often use slow standard zoom lenses with stabilisation and get great results at quite slow speeds, when we put on a fast short telephoto, without any stabilisation, and we expect miracles. I have found this with my excellent Nikkor G 85mm f1.8.

Whereas I would be happy using 1/30 second at the long end of my 16-85mm VR zoom, I would need to use a much faster shutter speed of at least 1/125 on my DX body with the fixed 85mm.

The old rule of shutter speed being around the same as the focal length is changed somewhat when you include the Canon's 1.6x crop factor too, so that would mean a minimum of 1/125, preferably more, if this was a grabbed image which I suspect, then an even faster speed would be needed.

You could have opened up the lens in this instance, something a slow zoom wouldn't have let you do.

Hope this helps!

Tim, thanks for your advice and your personal experience that will surely be useful to me and others who will read ....
In fact I do not know yet this goal since I bought it recently .... next time I will try to use a faster time, even if the camera is full frame and I thought that time would allow me to work in complete safety. ...
Thanks again for the time you dedicate to me, bye!

Beautiful vertical composition! The winter branches as texture, silhouettes, vertical lines and toning... I like them. Compliments.
