In alcuni luoghi di Torino il tempo sembra essersi fermato ad un'epoca di carrozze e cavalli, un tempo dove tutto sembrava scorrere più lento nonostante i grandi cambiamenti storici che stavano avvenendo. È proprio questa l'atmosfera che si respira nei caffè storici della città di Torino, gli antichi locali ottocenteschi dove poter assaporare le delizie tipiche del capoluogo piemontese. Il Caffè Torino è un vero capolavoro, amato da uomini della cultura e della politica: da Cesare Pavese a Macario, da Einaudi a De Gasperi, sono tanti i personaggi famosi che amavano passare i pomeriggi qui, in questo caffè nato quasi per scommessa nel 1903, in una piazza (San Carlo) dove già si trovavano altri importanti caffè storici. Scommessa vinta: il Caffè Torino ha ormai superato il secolo di vita, e nel corso degli anni ha assunto una fama internazionale, attraendo anche numerosi divi stranieri, da James Stewart ad Ava Gardner, fino a Brigitte Bardot.
