Questo reticolo, realizzato in canna e legni vari, è stato posizionamento per favorire l'accumulo di sedimenti lungo il litorale del poetto e ricreare (per quanto possibile) una "bozza" di zona dunale. Infatti è proprio la zona dunale (oltre che le foci dei fiumi) una delle principali riserve di sabbia, troppo spesso però eliminate per realizzare strade, strutture o servizi turistici di vario tipo. Ripresa da vicino, sembra quasi una texture.
