Il complesso monastico di S. Eustachio originariamente era molto articolato e composto da una serie di grotte comunicanti e disposte su più piani. Oggi, buona parte del cenobio è crollata. Al suo interno si possono ammirare alcuni affreschi risalenti al XVIII secolo, purtroppo danneggiati da atti di vandalismo. Nel centro si intravede quello narrante la leggenda di S. Eustachio, il generale romano convertito al Cristianesimo. Il soldato romano viene raffigurato su di un cavallo e, dinanzi a suoi occhi, vi è il cervo che gli parla in nome di Dio. Le mani in posizione di preghiera del cavaliere sono il segno della sua conversione al Cristianesimo.
