L'Arco del Trionfo (Arc de Triomf in catalano) venne costruito in occasione dell'Esposizione Universale del 1888 come simbolo di benvenuto. Si trova nel Passeig Lluis Companys, vicino al Parco della Ciutadella. Fu costruito dall'architetto Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas come concetto di "Ingresso Principale" dell'Esposizione Universale del 1888, che si svolgeva nel Parco della Ciutadella. Ha uno "stile neomudéjar", uno stile unicamente spagnolo che iniziò alla fine del secolo XIX a Madrid, caratterizzato da forme astratte in mattone (ladrillo) e gli archi a ferro di cavallo. Oltre a questo stile propriamente spagnolo, l'Arco di Trionfo contiene proporzioni classiche. I rilievi che si trovano ai lati rappresentano l'agricoltura, l'industria, il commercio e l'arte. In alto si possono osservare gli scudi delle province spagnole. Questi adorni vennero realizzati da diversi scultori. Tutte le sculture e i rilievi hanno un gran simbolismo, però ecco che salta fuori un particolare: vi sono anche due rilievi di pipistrelli e nessuno è riuscito a spiegare che cosa significano e che rappresentano...
