at 400mm, 1/400 f/8.0, ISO 400, hand held. Bath Spa, United Kingdom.

Not a great shot, certainly not up to the professional standards of Juza wildlife photographers, with some cropping and much added sharpness and lightening of the fox's face, but it goes to show what you can see if you continually keep your eyes open. Whilst looking for long shots of Bath's World Heritage Georgian architecture, up in the wooded hills above the city, I looked back up the hill and immediately saw those gorgeous brown ears. Close enough to get a decent snap, the fox was watching two young male students who were naturally, making more noise than me, as they chatted. I called out to them "See the fox?" and they had the decency to look at and acknowledge the unusual sight, at lunchtime. The fox then decided it had had enough and disappeared into the undergrowth, so I only got the one shot.

Thanking everybody for the continuing interest in this quick shot, which I truly appreciate.

I did think of cloning out the piece of grass across his face, not only would that have been quite difficult (small area of fox to use as source), but also this was a wild and natural shot, not a polished, perfect study.
