#StorieDiPiume #Wild PIOVANELLO PANCIANERA - NOME SCIENTIFICO: Calidris alpina Ordine: Charadriiformes Famiglia: Scolopacidae Il Piovanello pancianera è della taglia di uno Storno, con una lunghezza compresa tra i 16 e i 20 centimetri e un'apertura alare di 35 - 40 centimetri. In livrea nuziale ha il dorso castano scuro, chiazzato di bruno nero e una vistosa macchia ventrale nera. Il piumaggio invernale è grigio scuro. Zampe e becco sono neri. Maschi e femmine non presentano differenze significative a livello del piumaggio. Nei giovani sono evidenti numerose striature biancastre longitudinali sul dorso color ruggine. Il Piovanello pancianera si nutre di insetti, molluschi, aracnidi, poche sostanze vegetali. In riva al mare si nutre dietro la linea di marea correndo dietro le onde ed a volte anche nuotando. Durante la migrazione frequenta coste sabbiose o fangose, estuari, lagune, rive di laghi, stagni e rive di fiumi, pianure inondate.
