Stamattina, ore 7 sono salita a bordo del tram più antico di Milano lungo la storica linea 1. Interni in legno scuro; panchette lungo i lati del Tram; gradini in legno; lampade di vetro lavorato; il rumore delle ruote di ferro che scorrono lungo i binari ed un modo sostenibile per scoprire la città. bellezze meneghine. Questa zona della Stazione Centrale è chiamata la qasba proprio perché abitata da tantissime etnie che nel tempo hanno caratterizzato il quartiere. Vedete quegli alberi in lontananza? Ecco, quelli sono i Giardini Pubblici dalla parte dei bastioni di Porta Venezia, una parte delle antiche mura della città costruite dagli Spagnoli piu di 500 anni fa! Due fermate ed eccovi in Piazza Cavour. Il vostro tram passerà ora sotto quegli archi… è l'antica Porta Nuova, ha quasi 700 anni! Al di là di quella mura sarete nel vero centro storico della città. Splendidi palazzi a destra e sinistra e tutto ha un colore più dolce… ma certo, guardate per terra dal finestrino, non c'è l'asfalto, c'è il pavé… la caratteristica pavimentazione della vecchia Milano… Ancora due fermate, ed ecco, si apre davanti a voi Piazza della Scala chiamata così per la storica presenza del Teatro più invidiato da tutto il mondo, il Teatro alla Scala, ad incorniciare la piazza, alla vostra sinistra, Palazzo Marino e subito, a fianco, l'immensa arcata della Galleria di Milano, Galleria di Corso Vittorio Emanuele II che porta dritto diritto in Piazza del Duomo. Poco dopo, si arriva ad un bivio: a sinistra la statua di un famoso difensore della libertà (Carlo Cattaneo) e a destra avanti verso via Broletto. Siete nella zona più antica della città. Si narra che 2400 anni or sono, qui vi fosse un grande prato (Brolo – Broletto) e che qui, antiche popolazioni provenienti dalla Francia (i Galli) decisero di fondare una città, la nostra Milano. Dopo aver girato a sinistra ecco riaprirsi un grande slargo con al centro la statua di Giuseppe Garibaldi e, se guardate bene, intravedete davanti a voi, le mura in mattoni del Castello Sforzesco con i suoi torrioni! Dietro al castello c'è un parco enorme, il Parco Sempione! Se non siete scesi dal vostro tram, vi troverete davanti sulla sinistra un grande e moderno palazzo verde…che cos'è? È la Stazione Nord, la seconda stazione ferroviaria di Milano… E quel groviglio di fili colorati che si intravede là davanti? A guardar bene il filo è solo uno ed è tutto colorato, è gigantesco… e c'è anche un enorme ago, è alto quasi 20 metri! È una scultura, si chiama Ago, Filo e Nodo. Ora il vostro tram, passata piazza Virgilio, vi conduce pian piano per viali alberati, viale Vincenzo Monti e poi via Mario Pagano, fino a raggiungere la parte opposta del grande Parco Sempione. Qui, in Piazza Sempione, sotto il maestoso Arco della Pace alto 25 metri, termina il vostro viaggio in tram. Siete stanchi di stare seduti? Avete voglia di sgranchirvi un po' le gambe? Beh, quale posto migliore… avete una piazza vuota tutta a vostra disposizione, un parco immenso e alla fine del parco, un Castello e dall'altra parte una piacevole isola pedonale ricca di bar dove potervi dissetare… Amici di Milano e hinterland, fate come me, quest'esperienza: è unica.
