Per me passare un'ora su questa barca, che nel modello riprende quello usato dagli apostoli, è stata un'emozione grandissima. Se ne avete l'occasione, fatelo, è un'emozione imperdibile. ll lago di Tiberiade, o mare di Galilea, chiamato anche lago di Genessaret era al tempo di Gesù un importante snodo commerciale, e nei suoi pressi si erano sviluppati numerosi centri urbani di notevole importanza. E' in questa zona che Gesù svolge la sua predicazione e compie alcuni importanti miracoli. Fu proprio lungo le sponde di questo lago che Gesù chiamò a se i primi discepoli. Mentre infatti Gesù stava camminando lungo la riva del lago vide Pietro e Andrea suo fratello che pescavano e, risposero al Suo richiamo e lo seguirono. L' evangelista Luca aggiunge anche il racconto della pesca miracolosa, secondo il quale Gesù, dopo aver visto Pietro e gli altri pescatori reduci da una lunga notte di lavoro che non aveva portato frutti, li invita a prendere di nuovo il largo e a gettare le reti per la pesca. Così facendo le reti si riempiono talmente tanto di pesci che dovettero chiedere aiuto ad altri pescatori per riuscire a portare a riva tutto il pesce pescato. Tornati a riva lasciarono tutto e lo seguirono. Un altro discepolo che viene chiamato lungo la riva del lago di Tiberiade è Matteo. Sulle sponde del mare di Galilea, Gesù compì anche il miracolo della moltiplicazione dei pani e dei pesci, narrato da tutti e quattro gli evangelisti. Luca, a differenza degli altri, ambienta il miracolo in un luogo deserto sulla strada per Betsàida, una città portuale situata sulla costa nord del lago. Negli altri racconti dei Vangeli troviamo il miracolo ambientato semplicemente in un luogo deserto. In questa occasione Gesù, dopo aver benedetto cinque pani d' orzo e due pesci ne fa scaturire dalle ceste una quantità sufficiente a sfamare l' intera folla che lo seguiva. Dopo il segno della moltiplicazione dei pani e dei pesci, Gesù compie un altro prodigio davanti ai suoi discepoli. Racconta Matteo che mentre la barca si trovava al largo , e Gesù si era ritirato sulla terraferma a pregare, verso la fine della notte i discepoli lo videro camminare verso di loro sulle acque e rimasero spaventati perché pensavano che fosse un fantasma . Gesù dunque, buona parte della sua vita pubblica, la passo nelle vicinanze di questo luogo. Lungo questo lago si recò anche dopo la resurrezione come racconta Giovanni nell' epilogo del suo Vangelo. Mentre Pietro, Tommaso, Natanaele, e altri discepoli erano a pescare Gesù apparve loro ma non lo riconobbero. Si verifica allora per la seconda volta il miracolo della pesca abbondante, e quando Pietro trova le reti piene Giovanni esclama:”E' il Signore!” Aveva capito infatti che l' uomo sulla riva era Gesù risorto e immediatamente Pietro si tuffa in acqua per andargli incontro. Una volta che tutti i discepoli furono giunti alla riva mangiarono insieme con Lui pane e pesce arrostito. Questa foto è stata scattata da mia sorella. E' mio solo il viraggio.
