Here is what the problem may be! Most of the shots do not have any problems, but some still I found them a little less sharp (especially at the edges) without a clear motive. It is due to the hyperfocal! Thanks for the answer, I will do some testing undoubtedly!

A greeting, Leonardo

A beautiful view

Beautiful scene, location and light. The composition does not make me crazy, I want to take some of the sky to bring the pond back up, but as always this is what I would have done.

On the speech instead of the hyperfocal I do not follow you. What's the matter with the rubbed edges? Do you think that if I focus on infinite the defect is not known? That for me is just the limit of a 14mm on a dense sensor and f9. But on a small file for the web should not be so obvious or wrong ?.

congratulations

Simone, although the 14-24mm certainly shows its weaknesses on a sensor like that of the D800, such a noticeable loss to the edges is not acceptable, at least for me!
I invite you to watch this shot to let you know what I'm talking about, here the loss is to say the least ruinous: www.juzaphoto.com/galleria.php?l=en&t=2103431
I'm not at all an expert in various technicalities and I have no idea how ever in some cases show such a noticeable loss (I figured I thought it was due to the use of filters!) But in fact Gabriele's speech that could be Due to the use of the hyperfocal, a factor I never thought about it, can be plausible, surely I will do some tests to see if it is due to that!

I apologize for Gabriele for having "clogged" his post!

A greeting, Leonardo

I'm not an expert of technicalism

Lorenzo is not even my question because I have no certainty. It sounds strange to me that the depth of field in hyperfocal (that is, from a minimum on the foreground for infinity) may vary from edge to center of frame.
Oh maybe that's right, there will be limits due to the curvature of the lens I do not know, it's what I'm curious about.

I hope someone can clarify the thing better, I do not think they are polluting the post, they talk about photography ;-)

Thanks to Gabriele for suggestions and explanation, I will see some evidence and see what combination I can achieve with greater clarity! :-)

Compliments! Beautiful picture! He reminded me of the fatigue that I, together with a friend, had done to get them loaded with tents, tripods, reflexes, gas stoves.
PS we had been sleeping in a tent on the shore of the pond that you see in this photo. Well, it's awesome to notice how much the height of the glacier's face has been reduced! : -o I have a photo of me at the entrance to a kind of cave that was in front of the glacier ...
