La Pulsatilla armena, originaria dell'Asia, appartiene alla famiglia delle Ranuncolaceae e non è diffusa in Italia. Etimologicamente il termine deriva dal latino "pulsatus" = "pulsare" in riferimento al caratteristico dondolio dello scapo sotto l'azione del vento. L'epiteto della specie richiama il suo ambiente vegetativo. La peluria argentea della pianta è in grado di creare in cuscinetto d'aria che agisce come isolante. Presa cruda è una pianta fortemente tossica, irritante delle mucose nasali. Nella medicina popolare si usava contro l'avvelenamento e la peste. Oggi si riconoscono proprietà sedative, diuretiche ed espettoranti. Usata in omeopatia per guarire la depressione con gli stessi effetti della nux vomica. Scatto effettuato nel mese di Maggio 2017 nel Giardino Botanico Alpinia – Alpino di Stresa VB.
