Sono tornato nella Sierra de Gredos in Spagna dopo ben 17 anni. Allora, era stata una breve sosta con amici dopo aver girovagato in vari parchi spagnoli come birdwatching. Mi ricordo ancora come eravamo saliti a Gredos proprio alla ricerca dei pettazzurri, ma invano. Avevamo comunque osservato tantissimi rapaci soprattutto Nibbi reali e Aquile minori e passeriformi piuttosto rari da noi come l'Ortolano. Quest'anno, recuperando varie notizie in rete ho organizzato un breve viaggio di 5 giorni con moglie al seguito con mete appunto Gredos e poi Trujillo in extremadura. A Gredos dopo tutto il tempo trascorso dalla prima visita, ho ritrovato lo stesso ambiente intatto e, incredibilmente ho osservato le aquile minori nello stesso identico posto. In 1/2 giornata sono salito in quota e fidandomi delle notizie raccolte, ho trovato i pettazzurri, ma non solo. Ovunque Ortolani, Culbianchi, Passere scopaiole, Zigoli muciatti ed il bellissimo Codirossone, che mi ha deliziato in bellissime parate nuziali. Non sono mancati poi i rapaci, dal grande avvoltoio grifone alle bellissime aquile minori, insomma un paradiso ancora mirabilmente e incredibilmente conservato.
