Pianta erbacea perenne appartenente alla famiglia delle Asteraceae , alta 30-40 cm, originaria del Caucaso e della Turchia. Fusti eretti, non ramificati, scuri, portanti foglie opposte con lamina da ovata ad oblungo lanceolata, verde chiaro, pelose. I fiori, terminali e solitari sono larghi circa 7 cm, con molte ligule sottili giallo oro attorno al disco centrale di fiori tubulari leggermente più scuri. Foto del bocciolo perché la piena fioritura avviene in Giugno-Luglio Scatto effettuato nel mese di Maggio 2017 al Giardino Botanico Alpinia – Alpino di Stresa (VB)
