Uno dei pochi esempi nel Luinese di masso che presenta pregevoli incisioni e graffiti risalenti al 2000 avanti Cristo. Questo grosso macigno, che sorge nell'omonima località prealpina, a strapiombo sul torrente Giona, si contraddistingue per la presenza di incisioni rupestri risalenti al 2000 avanti Cristo: il valore di questi graffiti è notevole, dal momento che rappresentano simboli e figure tipiche dell'epoca pagana. Alla destinazione culturale estremamente importante del megalite, si aggiunge il forte interesse che suscitò nel corso dei secoli scorsi, quando fu utilizzato nell'ambito di pratiche religiose legate all'adorazione della natura e al cristianesimo: a testimonianza di questo, si può notare come i simboli pagani vennero sostituiti nel Medioevo da svariate croci fiorite di chiara influenza iconografica carolingia. Alcune delle incisioni del masso di Piero, se confrontate con altre ubicate nella aree limitrofe, fanno dedurre come queste aree furono abitate già da molto tempo fa, precisamente a partire dal secondo millennio avanti Cristo.
