at 500mm, 1/4000 f/5.6, ISO 200, hand held. Riserva Naturale Regionale Foce Isonzo, Italy. Specie: Falco peregrinus

Maggio 2017 – Ho accompagnato un amico fotografo naturalista piemontese all'Isola della Cona; siamo arrivati di buona mattina ed abbiamo fatto l'intero giro dell'area fotografando Cavalieri d'Italia, Aironi, Limicoli ed altro.- Ci siamo poi fermati in un capanno da cui si potevano ammirare da pochi metri alcuni Cavalieri d'Italia e leggermente più distanti dei gruppetti di limicoli.- Stiamo quasi per andarcene quando una parte dei limicoli partono in volo apparentemente spaventati da qualcosa.- Pensiamo al passaggio di un rapace; un falco di palude; una poiana . . . . . . il gruppetto di limicoli sorvola l'intero specchio d'acqua e poi si riposa quasi nello stesso punto da cui era partito.- Una decina di minuti di apparente tranquillità, poi tutto si svolge in pochissimi secondi; tutti gli uccelli posati a terra si involano disordinatamente all'unisono spaventati e lanciando gridi d'allarme; un “missile” piomba davanti a noi sul gruppo di limicoli alzatisi in volo e ci passa poi letteralmente sopra la testa.- Alzo istintivamente la macchina, inquadrando non so nemmeno io cosa, e scatto a raffica . . . . . salvo tre foto, di cui questa è quella che preferisco.- Nessuna bravura da parte mia; mi sono solo trovato casualmente al momento giusto nel posto giusto; tutto il merito va all'attrezzatura; in primis alla mia nuova D500, acquistata qualche giorno prima ed alla sua prima uscita sul campo.- Direi un ottimo modo per testarla ed inaugurarla
