I like too much this very strong black and white That Seems almost an IR :-)
I guess you will have used a polarizing filter at least ... Is not it?
Really a beautiful catch, compliments!

HUGE thanks to EVERYONE!

I think some of you find my black and whites (such as this one) better than they really are, (I am never entirely happy with any of my images) BUT I was asked a specific question by more than one person, so -

YES, a polariser is almost always on all my lenses that can take one (fisheyes not, nor the 120-400, nor 150-500mm, though I will use the 70-300mm with one on occasion.

All my b&w conversions are done manually and with no predetermined formula or processes. I have an idea of what I want it to look like and a vague idea on how to create it and then work towards that. I don't have or use Silver Efex Pro or anything similar. There is nothing magical done and no more than anyone with a modern Photoshop (or similar) prgramme cannot do, with some experience and knowledge.

Once the conversion has been done, I will still edit further, taking as long as it takes, often taking 15 or 20 minutes.

I did feel this image was pushing the contrast too far but it just about works and you seem to like it, which is the main thing!
