, 1/1000 f/4.5, ISO 200, Specie: Terathopius ecaudatus

... but what is the hawk juggler?

The Falco juggler (Terathopius ecaudatus) is an eagle medium sized belonging to the family Accipitridae. It is the only member of the genus Terathopius.
Its name in French (Bateleur, also taken from English) describes the characteristic habit of beating the ends of the wings while flying, how to find the balance.
This is an extremely short-tailed species (ecaudatus in Latin means no tail) that makes it unmistakable in flight.

Leonardo.

The birds once fledged does not increase more. Indeed, there is generally a physiological decrease in size with sexual maturity. So do not expect hawks jugglers larger ... ;-)

Leonardo.
