Questo martino è grande più dl doppio dei suoi simili (da qui il nome). Pur avendolo incontrato numerose volte non l'ho mai visto in coppia, ed è molto diffidente. Sono davvero stato fortunato, l'ho fotografato da un ponte, più o meno alla mia stessa altezza.
