Back to reality with a bump, then!

Indeed! I'm happy for normality and the usual rhythm of life to resume for a while though - although, no doubt, I shall get itchy feet before too long!

I'm off out at 11 pm on last train to Westbury tonight - and spending the night, yes, all night! up on the ridge above the White Horse and coming back after sunrise! The clouds will clear and there's a full moon, so.... Only the Stroller does stupid things like this! It will get quite chilly, slight frost even and I will be on my own... Wish me well - it does mean that I won't be on Juza until I've had some sleep tomorrow much later tomorrow.

I do indeed wish you well! I hope you will be well layered up and with lots of hot drinks!
I've not been out today, except to church, so I'll be hoping to get out in the sun tomorrow.

I look forward to seeing the results of your night out!

Thank you. It is an area I know a little of, so I won't get lost yet it still holds huge intrigue to me. Being on the edge of the Military Plain also... and site of a battle at Bratton... It takes about 90 mins to walk up to the top. Sometimes a snapper's gotta do what a snappa has to do... and ensures both moon and sunrise whilst already high up! I'm sure hippies and stargazers would also like to be in my position!

Thermals, flask, torch, Ipod, phone (of course) - and I might even take a camera with me too! (plus big tripod). I should have time to post at 11 pm as usual before I go.

Oh and I did like very much your faffing with fotoshop too, excellent result.

It sounds fabulous (but something of an endurance test!)

I'll look out for what you post at 11. I'll be posting something then, too - a more conventional shot than the last two I've posted today! Thanks for 'liking' my 'Reaching For The Sun' image that I know you were undecided about!

Some of the processing made me wince a little but I didn't want to be too pedantic and overall it is quite a striking image.

As for endurance tests, well, less than getting cut off on a Welsh beach !! - if I'd gone to Warminster, then it would take just as long to get up into the hills - and IF I find it too cold or any other reason, I can come back down for the first train to Salisbury at 5.30, and no doubt a coffee at a petrol station, but I have already pre bought the tickets to come back off peak, which rather than having to get a period return or two single tickets (which would be expensive), it's a pretty good £18.90 return but would be over £6 more to return before 9pm and this way I get a sunrise and landscape shots early in the morning. And there are a few benches to sit on at the viewpoint too!

So glad you like it, Claudio! This was actually taken in the grounds of a school - I wonder whether the students there realise quite how fortunate they are!
