For the answer to Giuseppe's question - Brighton has two piers, the main, famous one which is open to the public is the Palace Pier. However, the West Pier, a few hundred metres to the west burned down spectacularly in March 2003 - such was the damage it was deemed beyond economic repair and has been since been left to the Mother Nature and the sea to slowly erode and break up and is now the skeleton you see here now. For photographers, in our strange morbid way, this is by far the more photogenic and intersting pier of the two! |
