Scatto effettuato all'alba. Più ancora delle ville, dei cascinali, delle corti e dei castelli, il casone con tetto in di paglia di segale ha caratterizzato la campagna e la civiltà rurale veneta per oltre un millennio, dalle invasioni dei barbari fino a pochi decenni or sono, anche se la sua storia affonda le radici nelle abitazioni paleovenete. Non si tratta di una rudimentale capanna, ma di una vera e propria cultura abitativa molto evoluta. Il Casone era la casa dei poveri, contadini con poca terra o braccianti, e delle tante bocche da sfamare. In genere punteggiava le aree marginali dei grandi appezzamenti padronali, lungo fiumi e canali.
