Nei pressi di Ndutu (Tanzania) abbiamo assistito a un violento attacco di un gruppo di leoni a questa "povera" iena. La malcapitata è stata azzannata da una leonessa e dopo una concitata lotta è finita in un fosso, scomparendo letteralmente, inghiottita dal fango del corso d'acqua. Siamo rimasti nei pressi dell'accaduto per fotografare altri animali. Dopo una quindicina di minuti, la caparbia iena riemergeva dal fango per scomparire all'interno di un folto cespuglio. Perdeva molto sangue da una zampa e, sorpreso ho avuto il tempo di scattare solo questa foto, che nonostante i limiti tecnici ho deciso di farvi vedere. Chissà se è riuscita a sopravvivere......
