Sicilian Portrait. sent on November 30, 2016 (22:39) by Giuseppe.Cristofalo. 46 comments, 2377 views. [retina]

at 16mm, 1/200 f/4.0, ISO 100, hand held. Palermo, Italy.

A successful experiment in the complex. When I saw her for the first time this morning at 6:30 on the tablet no mo realized the maf and not so wide angle, it seemed interesting at first glance because of the pink shirt is peeling from the bottom and for the color the skin and the expression of sympathetic and experienced ladies. I remain of the idea even after her magazine with more attention and invite the author to groped other portraits in the same way. Maybe even in black and white.

Great portrait. I really like it.
He manages to bring out the traits of the Sicilian people.
An underlying radiance sometimes obscured by an atavistic melancholy.
And here these traits are all out in conjunction with a modesty probably due to the situation.

Technically the fire hath been spoken already, I think there has worsened the curvature of the lens. Perhaps the most eye is blurry nose missing.
In any case, it seems to me that you have mastered the situation quite well. Next time if you want to continue using this focal length (can give very interesting results) tries to make happen the face in a more central location, where the distortion has less weight.
Good care also of the frame.
Well done.

For me a very good portrait. The choice of wide-angle makes it unusual and very special. The expressiveness of the subject then it is really nice to see.
Too bad for the focus not very accurate, but in my opinion does not change the value of the picture.

I like to put immediately!
Nice effect of wide angle. I like to use to see tears in his eyes and that all the wrinkles are well marked! It annoys a thread that the front is out of focus, but the eye is well guided on the look of the gentleman and not very noticeable. even the colors beautiful.

L 'idea is good but:
The maf wrong and I see the face out of focus
The position of the hands I do not like
I see too much contrast and sharpness
if you have the opportunity to do again the idea is beautiful

This portrait is fantastic.
MAF in part that can be wrong (indeed, it is :-D), the overall picture is remarkable, this gentleman has a very expressive face and this shot, wide angle and top, gives him almost a caricature effect.
Managed well the background, often underestimated.
It seems one of those taken from advertising portraits, I really like.

Thanks Marco!
I was undecided whether to publish it because of the maf cannata!

Nope, at the end of the portrait that is, the maf is wrong but it was a shame to lose this beautiful portrait.

I'm not an expert on portraits, even if I'm there timidly approaching. One thing you can say is that a portrait 16 is very distorted, and, although the effect is definitely wanted to, I'm not crazy. The subject is fantastic. It must be just nice. all'f4 eye that has tightened; the maf you ...

I unfortunately I approached so much the subject that I have exceeded the minimum focusing distance!
Thank you so much for the passage!
