Dexter Sorry if I insist, but the method Lighten I am convinced that you would be pulled behind the brightness and color of the fireflies since shooting night was darker in the background compared to that achieved for the sunset. In any case, if you use the channel of the yellow inverted or the brightness or b channel, you can make a selection or mask at once you select the fireflies. Obviously you need to lean to the second file opened in CMYK or LAB to choose the most appropriate channel.
In any case, forgive me, if you saw that does not work then the last word to you anyway.

Maximum Markkinen and thanks to you guys :-)

@ Ildiora: no no indeed, any suggestion is more than welcome! :-) I end up like this because I preferred to work with the evidence that I had done none of the options automatically satisfy me ;-) the fact remains that they are not an expert, especially with mergers, and certainly not mastered several automatic tools that allow me to save a lot of time :-)

@ Mignoloso: took me "a little" than your trip (this year came later than expected) but in the end I did ;-)
