Questa immagine è stata scattata a Nosy Iranja, letteralmente Isola delle tartarughe, così chiamata proprio perché nel passato è stata scelta dalle tartarughe marine (tartarughe verdi e tartarughe embricate) per deporre le loro uova. Se si è fortunati e si visita l'isola nel periodo giusto, si può assistere all'emozionante momento della schiusa, quando le piccole tartarughe emergono dalla sabbia ed iniziano la loro veloce ed istintiva corsa verso il mare, la loro casa. Nosy Iranja è costituita da due isole Nosy Iranja Keli, la piccola, e Nosy Iranja Be, la grande, collegate tra loro da una lingua di sabbia bianca di circa 1,5 Km che appare con la bassa marea. Durante il mio viaggio in Madagascar ho potuto assistere per ben due volte, sulla piccola Nosy Iranja Keli, alla schiusa delle uova di tartaruga verde, accompagnato da un biologo locale, incaricato di monitorare la deposizione delle uova e la loro schiusa. Un'esperienza bellissima, un autentico privilegio. #wild
