, 1/320 f/8.0, ISO 100, hand held. Specie: Pyrrhocorax graculus

Ciao
Marco

I do not think it is a young chough because the upper beak has a color that tends to yellow, typical of alpine chough.
Congratulations for the photo.

It is not a Chough, but an Alpine Chough immature, because of body structure (more 'compact tail more' short and rounded, less boxy wings of coral with free fingers shallow - The beak in the young of both species is more 'short compared to adults and the color is more' pale). If anything strange is the overall color. In the young Alpine Chough color is dark blackish-brown, not black as polished as in adults. It is not that the color of the animal in the picture is due to an excessive dose of photoshop to lighten the shadows?

Hello (the photo is beautiful cmq)

Ciao Ale

Hello Daniel, the color of the sample taken and 'exactly what you see in the photo, pp focused mainly on the background and almost nothing on the subject. While flying in the midst of the alpine chough, all blacks and yellow beak, this model is well recognized as being just different color, also the beak as you see was white and only at the tip tended to yellow, I add that the color of the legs, that are not included here, it was a pale pink, very different from that of the other jackdaws, who all looked the same, cookie-cutter! The size, however, were the same. Hello Ale

Ho capito.

Ciao!

I get it. So this is an anomaly of plumage. Interesting! However, it remains a good picture but Alpine Chough and coral ;-)
