Nella foto la città dove ho vissuto la mia adolescenza; quando mi è possibile ci torno sempre volentieri, quasi da turista, anche se mi sembra sempre strano. Mi piace aggirarmi per i vicoli della città vecchia, con i pavimenti in pietra ed osservare i dettagli e i ricami barocchi scolpiti nelle vecchie costruzioni, opera di menti fantasiose e mani esperte. Particolari del paesaggio urbano che conoscevo e osservavo, anche da ragazzo, ma in modo assai più distratto. Una delle ultime volte che sono stato in città in un vicolo del centro storico ho incrociato un fumatore di toscano corpulento, con indosso un cappotto scuro e dall'incedere lento, regolare e marziale. L'ho seguito per un po' e ho fatto qualche scatto, perchè tutte le volte che prendeva una boccata dal toscano, in controluce si poteva vedere, letteralmente, una nuvola di fumo molto curiosa, diffondersi nell'aria, credo che la foto possa darne un'idea.
