Dentro lo specchio sghembo e malinconico della vita ho cercato una favilla di speranza. Sognavo di scoprire i segreti del divenire, di comprendere le miserie del passato, di trovare una chimerica cura al male inguaribile che divora questa povera umanità. Speravo di rintracciare le certezze e le verità del mondo, ma ho intravisto solo una mesta figura di uomo smarrito. Poi mi sono ridestato all'improvviso, quando un bel cavallo bruno mi voleva leccare l'obiettivo fotografico, supponendo fosse qualcosa di appetitoso. Tuttavia, è stato affascinante specchiarsi nello sguardo languido di un animale. Un grande occhio curioso che assomiglia in maniera incredibile ad un grandangolare di uno strumento fotografico. Ho accarezzato il suo manto vellutato color bruno rilucente, ma l'animale si è poi allontanato, deluso del mancato nutrimento ed infischiandosi dei miei vaneggiamenti filosofici. Come scrisse un secolo fa il grande poeta portoghese Fernando Pessoa: "La natura mai si ricorda, e perciò è bella..." e quindi sa rinnovarsi e migliorarsi, aggiungo io. Non come l'animale uomo che versa lacrime amare rivolgendo lo sguardo al proprio passato, senza apprendere mai nulla di corretto.
