Si , la voga detta alla Veneta è in realtà tipica di quasi tutte le realtà fluviali ,lacustri e palustri d'Italia su imbarcazioni a fondo piatto, anche se la tradizione si è conservata prevalentemente nell'ambiente lagunare ,con alcune varianti.
Il singolo barcarolo che rema in piedi nei fiumi , per contrastare efficacemente la corrente rema nello stesso modo ma con due remi contemporaneamente in quella voga che vien detta alla "vallesana".
Quando a condurre la barca si è in due si usa un solo remo per lato.
Nelle acque più calme anche un uomo solo con un remo può condurre benissimo la barca (vedi Venezia).
Il vantaggio di remare in piedi non risiede solo nell'efficacia della remata, alla quale partecipa la spinta di tutto il corpo ma anche nel fatto che permette al barcarolo di vedere bene ogni ostacolo insidioso anche sotto il pelo dell'acqua quando frequenta bassi fondali.
Sempre per via dei bassi fondali , l'uso di barche a fondo piatto.
