, 1/50 f/8.0, ISO 320, tripod. Salisbury, United Kingdom.

Early morning. Superwide 14mm on FX (DX eqv 9mm), so no graduated grey filters can be attached to the front. There was some sunrise colour in that big sky, so to give that a boost, I set the white balance to 'cloudy' - which set off a rather violent dark red hue over everything. Thinking that would only affect the jpeg and not the main RAW used for editing, well I was wrong! So, in PS5, actually decreased the reds quite a lot, added much extra contrast to the clouds and spent some time extracting LOTS of shadow detail in the cathedral, which was totally dark in the original. Unfortunately, the yellow tungsten bulb used in the lamp has been replaced by an EU approved energy saving LED, which only gives out white light. So, that HAD to be turned back to warm tungsten! Other than all that, it's a quite straightforward shot! #Cathedrals
